Tsukasa: Oukawa is smart enough to understand his position. He would never be so foolish as to defy me, head of the main family.
That said, Crazy:B are cut from the same cloth as that loathsome Trickstar—there is no way of knowing what they'll do.
We should not fool ourselves into thinking they will move as we wish.
With that in mind, we must not expect too much from them. Let us do what we must for ourselves.
Ritsu: Yep. All we have left to do is avoid fighting and save up as much SSL$ as we can through other kinds of work...
By the time the prelims end, we'll have to be so rich that no other unit would be able to turn the tables on us.
Arashi: Easier said than done, though. I'm guessing it won't go that smoothly.
Tsukasa: Yes. That leads to our second problem.
Izumi: ...Me and Leo-kun have a job we absolutely cannot pass up, so we have to leave in the middle of the prelims.
Leo: Yup, in Europe they have this huge arts and music festival, and Sena and I have to make an appearance.
SS is nothin' compared to this—that's just some tiny Japan-only event, but this festival is on the international scale.
Kinda like the Olympics for music, I guess?
It's a miracle that young Japanese performers like us are even allowed to appear in it, let alone leave our mark. That's how huge this is for us.
Ritsu: It's not that well-known in Japan, though. But wait, wasn't it supposed to be happening around March?
Izumi: Yeah, that's why we jumped at the chance to take the job. You should be proud of us; we were practically tripping over ourselves saying how honored we were to get it.
Leo: But for some reason, this year's event was suddenly moved way earlier... Nobody knows why, either. Some people are saying some local hotshot stuck their nose into it.
Now we're all screwed up over here. With the SS prelims and this event happening at the same time, we're forced to choose.
Arashi: You ended up double-booked, huh... It's not so unheard of in this line of work, though.
Izumi: Yeah, but we'd hoped the SS Committee would be accommodating, considering our situation.
But when we asked, they were all like, going to Europe during the qualifiers would be breaking their rule about not going to other regions, so they can't let us go.
Leo: Yeah, what the hell? Me and Sena met them in person just now to discuss it, but they were total hardasses about it.
Apparently, we can't break the rules no matter how much we ask—even when me and Sena being in a huge event overseas would bring so much profit to ES.
They said rules are rules, and they wouldn't budge an inch. I mean geez, who are they, the Rule People from Planet Rules?
Izumi: It's so toootally annoying...
In any case, we have two options right now.
One, Leo-kun and I leave during prelims and go participate in that festival in Europe.
Leo: In that case, we'd get fined for breaking the "don't go to other regions" rule!
Izumi: Two, we give up on the festival and do what we can in the SS prelims.
Leo: But if we do that, we might not be able to get more work, at least not in Europe.
We'd be quitting a huge job last minute, which is basically spitting in the employer's face.
That insult would spread like wildfire and, me aside, that would completely screw over Sena, who's only just started his model career.
Izumi: We'd probably lose trust and be left out of job offers...
They'd think we were just some stupid, arrogant Japanese who'd throw away a huge opportunity for fame just for personal reasons.
We'd earn hate in the industry, maybe even public backlash. That could be a fatal blow for us—being an idol or a model is all about popularity and trust.
All the hard work we put in would go down the toilet, along with the dreams I left this tiny country to achieve.
So yeah, personally I'd rather go for the first choice... Sorry to leave you guys alone, but we've gotta pull out of the prelims early to fly to Europe.
But when we do that, we'll be breaking the rules, and you'll probably get fined for a lot of money.
Normally, we'd make that up with live battles, the only way to get money quick... But with that option gone, we probably wouldn't be able to earn enough SSL$ to make the cut in the qualifiers.
Ritsu: Yeah. It's already hard enough as it is, plus it'd be a total disaster if our secret order got leaked.
We would suffer the most humiliating, most pathetic defeat we've ever had, picked so clean there would be nothing left.
We... the ES Big 3's so-called "invincible" veteran unit Knights.
Arashi: I don't want that either, but we're out of options... Just as Leo-kun said, we're in a tight spot right now.
Tsukasa: We have no choice but to push onward with our plan to earn money in whatever ways we can, before Sena-senpai and Leo-san leave us for Europe. After that, we can only pray nothing more happens...
Leo: Sure, but you know, in the real world, it's pretty often that things go way, way worse than the worst thing we can imagine.
*sigh* Really puts you in a gloomy mood... Music is supposed to make people happy, but lately everything's been so depressing.
