Sunshine - Sunnyside Chapter 8

Location: Hotel Lobby

Tsukasa: ...? Sena-senpai? Sena-senpaaaai...?
Izumi: ...Zip it already, I hear you. You don't have to say my name over and over.
Tsukasa: Then please, dignify me with a response. It feels miserable to be so bluntly ignored.
You have been staring toward the lobby for a while now. Is someone there?
Izumi: No, it's the exact opposite. No one's there.
Tsukasa: No one...? I see hotel staff and guests, though?
Izumi: That's not what I mean. I'm saying, there's no one here paying attention to us.
I know Knights fans make it a point not to bother us outside of work, so nobody's going to come up and talk to us...
...But they'd at least be staring from a distance, right?
They're free to look, to an extent. I mean, anybody would be hard-pressed not to stare when they see a famous person they recognize, right?
But here, I don't see anybody looking our way. It's less stressful, sure, but it really drives home how nameless we are here.
...Before meeting up with you guys in the lobby, I got stopped at the hotel entrance by what I assume was some foreign journalist.
They were asking me the sort of questions you'd ask anybody, stuff like, "Are you excited to be here?" Didn't look like they cared who I was.
I know our popularity in Japan isn't gonna translate everywhere, and stuff like this is bound to happen when we haven't gotten our name out yet.
I'm also pretty tired after that long trip, so it's making things feel extra annoying.
...We have nothing special scheduled today, so I'll be resting in my room until sundown. I don't want to get sunburned, after all.
See you later.
Tsukasa: Ah, understood. Rest well...
(...As Sena-senpai mentioned, our fame here is next to nothing. Aoba-senpai also warned me that we would be lucky to find someone who knows our name.)
(But... should we truly give up so soon?)
(We've been given such a great opportunity to perform...)
