Location: Student Council Room

Mao: I'm coming in~
(Huh? There's no one here. Usually, Hasumi-senpai's always around, to the point you'd think he actually lives here. Hmm, maybe he's in the toilet?)
(Nah, if that was the case, he'd have someone keep watch, or he'd make sure to lock the room. He seems pretty meticulous about that.)
(Actually, he's kind of scarily thorough with security, what with always shredding his used documents and all...)
(It's almost as if... he has his guard up.)
(It doesn't seem like something I'd want to get involved in. Yep, let's not get too deep into this.)
(Can't be helped that no one's here, so I guess I'll come back tomorrow.)
(The lives lately... were they called DreamFes? I wanted to turn in a financial report for them.)
(However... Being left with an important document like this makes it feel like I've become a real member of the student council, now.)
(Well, not that I'm officially one yet, though.)
(It kinda feels like they like me, oddly enough. I guess I do work diligently and without complaint. The student council needs people—they're so busy they'd even ask a cat for help.)
...Hm?
(How careless, someone's left some important-looking documents out.)
(It's probably bad to touch them without permission, but for now I'll turn them over and cover them with a book or something so no one can try reading through the back.)
(Leaving something out like this can make people curious, after all.)
(...Huh?)
(Ritsu's name is on here? Did he do something wrong?)
(Isn't that bad? He already has one strike by getting himself held back a year... The next time he causes a problem, expulsion or something like it wouldn't be out of the question.)
(Hmm... What's this document for? It looks like the names of recent DreamFes lives and participants all put in a list?)
(Ritsu's name is listed under participants for the DreamFes of today's date ... "Checkmate", or something.)
(Mm~ It doesn't look like he caused any problems, but rather he's participating in a live...)
(That means he's actively trying to work hard, right? I should probably cheer him on.)
(...But what's up with this? There's a letter before the name of this DreamFes.)
(Most of the others are "D" or "J" or "O", but "Checkmate" has the only "C", huh.)
(It seems like some sort of special DreamFes?)
(Checkmate... It can't be the first letter of the name, right? Other DreamFes names don't have anything to do with the letters.)
(Mm, it's a mystery.)
(Wait, I shouldn't be doing this. I'm just an outsider helping out the student council, so I can't go around peeking at documents.)
(...I wasn't given any other work today, so maybe I'll go home.)
(I'd like to see Ritsu actually being an idol, so I actually want to go to this Checkmate thing to cheer him on.)
(But I didn't see the location written anywhere~ I guess it's the auditorium, then?)
(Maybe I'll take a peek on my way home.)
(Well, I don't really know what's happening, but do your best... Ricchan.♪)
Location: Checkmate Stage

Ritsu: Ah, I feel like Ma~kun's thinking about me.
Well, he's probably thinking about me all the time, anyway. Just like how I think about Ma~kun all the time too.
Yes, this is love... No matter when or where, Ma~kun and I are bonded by it.
Arashi: Mmhmm, I think so too~ That's love right there.
I'm so jealous~ You have such a wonderful romance...
Lately, somehow Kunugi-sensei and I keep missing each other. He seems busy after becoming the advisor for the student council.
Izumi: I honestly do not give a damn. Stop chattering and focus on rehearsal, alright? We're a band of makeshift mercenaries, after all.
Checkmate is an important live that we can't hold back on, so I'd like to get us all completely in sync before the real thing.
Got it? This isn't playtime. Put your all into it, okay?
Arashi: Whaaat... You dragged us in so suddenly, I'd at least like to be thanked for answering the call of loyalty. Right, Ritsu-chan?
Ritsu: Don't talk to me so casually. I'm just here to return a past favor out of obligation, okay...
So don't get so friendly with me.
Arashi: Oh, how cooold. Even if it's only temporary, we'll be fighting together, so let's get along ♪
Ritsu: I don't feel the need for that. I just wanna finish this up and go home and sleep.
Izumi: (Haa... Will we be okay with these members? I'm sooo concerned. We'd be in really big trouble if we lost this one, so we just scraped up some extra firepower in a big scramble, but....)
(What we have is a shitty four-eyes that has real talent, but no motivation and a brain fixed only on romance, and some rookie we just picked up like a dead body without even knowing where he came from...)
(And then there's me, and Leo-kun.)
(Can we really win against Chess like this?)
(They're the largest unit among all the ones we split into. Plus, they carried on with the original name, so they act like they're the rightful heirs to it.)
(They may be a motley group, but the difference in numbers is too large.)
(Numbers aren't everything in a live, of course. But having more people naturally makes it louder, and it's just human nature to look in that direction.)
(Leo-kun said he knew some more people who could help us, but...)
(I probably shouldn't expect too much. Like me, he's not the type to have many friends.)
(Ugh, geez, the future looks bleak... How in the world did it come down to this?)
