Season: Summer

---

Tetora: Ei! Hah! Ohh! Nguu!

Uryaaa!

Osu! Alright, I’m in top form.☆

(Fufu. I almost lost to the summer heat, but I think I’ve pretty much got my strength back!)

(Working up a sweat always clears me up~ I won’t go losin’ to the last of summer now!)

Eichi: Excuse me.

Tetora: Uryaaaa!

Eichi: Uheh?!

That was close… Throwing a punch the instant you meet someone? Such an unreasonable action wouldn’t count as a greeting in any country.

Tetora: Woooops?! I-I-I’m sorry! I thought you were the Boss!

Eichi: Hm. I thought you two in the karate club were close, but perhaps your relationship is more the kind where you throw punches the moment you see each other?

Tetora: No, not at all~ It’s just a kind of skinship, I guess!

The Boss never has an opening no matter how relaxed he looks, so even if I go at him with a surprise attack, he always deals with it perfectly!

Just the moment I think “This time!”, he gracefully evades it, it’s so cool! I wanna be like that!

I like seein’ him look this cool, so lately I’ve been throwin’ punches every time I see him!

Whenever he skillfully evades or catches my fist, my chest squeezes tight! He’s sooo cool!

Lately I just can’t get enough of this feeling.♪

Eichi: Hm. I’m afraid I don’t really understand, it sounds more like a great bother to Kiryu-kun… Well, I won’t criticize people’s preferences.

Tetora: Osu. But if I throw a punch at anyone other than the Boss, I could end up really hurting them.

I’ll try to hold back next time~ If I hurt someone, then it’d just be random violence.

Karate isn’t violence, it’s a discipline to master one’s own virtues! Osu!

Eichi: What a wonderful ambition. However, anyone can say anything with their mouths, and I get the sense that this statement is being repeated from somewhere.

Anyway. You… Nagumo-kun, yes? Have you seen Keito anywhere?

Tetora: Hm? Keito… That’s the vice president, yeah? I don’ think I’ve seen him anywhere.

He’s in the archery club anyway. Lookin’ for him at the dojo seems like barkin’ up the wrong tree to me?

Eichi: Well, I went to the archery club, but it seems like he’s not participating in club activities today.

So if that was the case, I supposed he was working with Akatsuki instead.

Keito often has meetings in this dojo, right? So I decided to take a peek just in case.

Tetora: Ah yeah, the Akatsuki members do use this place as a hangout.

It’s not really a bother since we don’t have many karate club members, so there’s a lot of space.

But when Akatsuki is here, the Boss only talks to them, so it kinda feels like they took him away.

Eichi: I get it.

…But back to the main topic. When Keito isn’t around, things come to a standstill. Today, there was no answer when I called his home or his cell phone, so he’s gone a bit missing.

I wonder what happened. When I don’t have business with him, he picks on me enough to get annoying, but now that I need him…

Tetora: Mm, is it some kinda urgent business? I’m just doin’ some solo training, so I can go searchin’ around for him if you like.

Eichi: Oh, it’s alright. It’s not a situation that needs urgent attention.

There is simply a matter that came up in the student council that can’t proceed without Keito’s permission.

Well, I’m a higher rank than Keito, maybe it’s okay to move it along myself.

It was quite a mess last year, so I would rather avoid acting on my own.

I suppose I have no choice. It’s Keito’s fault for going missing at such an important time.

Anyway, I apologize for interrupting your practice, Nagumo-kun.

I thought you were more anti-establishment, but I appreciate that you were surprisingly polite throughout our exchange.

Tetora: Mm~… Anti-establishment or whatever, I don’t really have any of those difficult political… beliefs? or anything like that. I just do whatever works at that time and place, y’see.

Eichi: You’re like an animal. If you don’t start thinking more like a human, you’ll just end up a tamed beast, you know?

Fufu. I’ve changed my mind. I’ll deal with the student council work tomorrow. Even if I have to wait until tomorrow morning, I’ve decided I’ll move on only once I’ve discussed it with Keito.

Nagumo-kun. You probably have difficulties practicing alone since there’s only so much you can do, so I will be your opponent.

I’ve been weakened by the summer heat, so I would like to train myself to gain back my strength.

Of course, if it’s a bother, I won’t.

Tetora: Huh…? You can’t just… It’d be nice if you could be my sparring partner, but, um, I believe your body is not so strong?

Is that okay?

Eichi: They say that one who suffers from an illness takes better care of his body. Thanks to this sickly body, I’ve been careful all my life.

I believe I’m healthier than the average person, who tends to be neglectful of their health. I probably even have more muscles than you do.

And besides, I am rather fond of the art of self-defense. I can at least mimic movements when sparring.

Tetora: Haa… It feels kinda like I’m acting weirdly to you.

I don’t get why someone like the student council president would wanna get so involved with me, so I’m just not sure what to do!

Eichi: How vexing. I’m the president. I would like to be the kind of person who is loved and takes care of every single student.

I believe this is how a politician should be during times of peace.

Fufu. And besides, Kiryu-kun seems to like you very much.

As thanks for snatching away my childhood friend, I’d love to annoy him by secretly getting close to his beloved pet.♪

Tetora: Nghh, I’m not a pet, y’know~? I’m the Boss’s greatest disciple!

Eichi: Greatest disciple, huh. How nice, there is worth in life simply having someone to follow after you. I’d also like to be the kind of person everyone is jealous of and chases after.

Now, cut the chatter and come at me. I shall be your opponent with the capoeira I learned from watching a movie recently.♪

Tetora: No, no, you don’t just get stronger from watchin’ a movie, y’know…?

Eichi: Yes, a little learning is a dangerous thing. I understand that, but I feel a bit unsatisfied hearing that from you.

It’s alright, come here. If we are men, let us speak with our fists.

I’ve always looked up to that since long ago. …It seems it’ll be good practice before fighting with Keito, too.♪

Tetora: Mnn… I don’ really know what’s goin’ on, but it’s not good to fight, yeah~?

We should all be gettin’ along. I’m against war. If it’s peaceful, then my beloved karate won’t be reduced to violence.

It’s not like I’ve been neutered like a pet. I’ve chosen this path for myself.
