That was just because Sora thought his hangglider was gonna get swept away by the waves, so he went to get it.

Right now it’s cloudy and a little sad.
But when Leo-san called out to Sora, thinking he’s an alien, the clouds covering Leo-san thinned just a little.
Sora thought you must’ve really, truly wanted to meet an alien.
Leo: …Yeah. An alien once said to me the stuff you’ve been telling me.
And because of that, I could look forward again, just a little. I gained a reason to stand up again. I’m grateful.
Sora: Yes. But Sora isn’t an alien, so he felt a bit stuck.
So that’s why Sora gathered materials together with Anzu… and researched a way to call real life aliens here.
Sora doesn’t know if this is the right way or not, but if it’s possible, Sora will try it! And at the end of trial and error, there’s science, magic, a brilliant shining future!
Ventura, Ventura, Space People! Space Brother? Whatever, just listen to Sora and show yourselves! [2]

Leo: Huh, me? But why are you even doing this for me…? There’s nothing in it for you. You’re such a random kid!
Sora: This isn’t about loss or gain~ it’s a magician’s role to help people! Just like long ago, Shisho~ saved Sora, who was suffering!

But it’s okay. Actually, Sora wants to be that kind of person, who saves people as if it was just a normal thing.
Sora might be weirder than other people, but he will use that “weird part” of himself for that purpose!

Sora: Yes! Ehehe, this is the first time Sora’s been acknowledged as a magician by someone outside his circle! So happy~♪
But more importantly! The aliens aren’t showing up yet, so we have to wish even harder for them! Now, Leo-san, you too…♪
Leo: Alrighty. Ah geez, skipping a meeting to do a ritual to summon aliens…
If this gets out, everyone’s gonna get mad at me again.
Well, that’s fine. These days happen sometimes. Days where you try really hard at something any adult would just laugh off as meaningless.
Those days are called “youth”.

[2] I can't find much info in English about it, but Japanese sources seem to point to two origins - either a reference to the space vessel Ventura seen by UFO enthusiast George Van Tessel, or a phrase used in Urusei Yatsura... Either way it's apparently a phrase that was popularized in Japan enough for people to recognize it as some universal alien summoning chant.
