[Garden Terrace Kitchen]

Izumi: Right, you know what? Never mind! You all suck at this! Go back to the basics—no, start all over from zero!

Subaru: Wah, you can’t say that, Mr. Seaweed! That’s my joke!

Izumi: What are you even talking about? And you, Orange Head, take this seriously too!

It’s not like you can’t cook, right? You’re holding that knife the proper way, somehow.

Subaru: Wah, a nickname! That makes me happy! Though Orange Head reminds me of Kumquat Head♪

Arashi: Akechi Mitsuhide, huh? That might even suit Trickstar quite a bit. I’m surprised you pay so much attention in class, Subaru-cha—…kun. [1]

Subaru: Nah, I don’t! But my memory’s pretty great! And my cooking too, since I make dinner myself on the days my mom gets back late from work.

Mao: Ahaha. You really can do everything, huh, Subaru.

Subaru: I can’t do anything at all - at least not compared to you, Sally~♪

Izumi: Hey, no chit-chat! Focus!

And don’t talk unless you need to - you’re getting spit everywhere! If you don’t listen, I’m gonna sew all your mouths shut, you know?!

Subaru: That’d be a problem! What’re you getting all worked up about, Mr Seaweed? Smile, smile~♪

Izumi: Excuse me? As if I could smile right now? What the hell is this all supposed to be? Sooo~ annoying!

I would’ve been fine doing this alone with Yuu-kun, imagining it all in my head like, “we’re just like newlyweds, ufufu♪”, but the rest of you are such eyesores that it makes me want to die.

My complexion’s gonna get messed up from the stress of just breathing the air in this place!

That magazine article’s already wearing away at my patience as it is, you know?!

Hokuto: Now, now… Don’t get so heated up, Sena-senpai. It’s just a bit frightening, considering how there are lots of potential murder weapons around here.

Makoto: Like the kitchen knives, for one. Though thanks to Kanzaki-kun from our class, we’re used to seeing sharp blades.

And there we go… Phew, making sweets is hard work~♪

Mao: You’re surprisingly chill about all this, aren’t you, Makoto?

Makoto: Huh? Ah… m-maybe?

I guess after hanging around with everyone in Trickstar for so long, many things don’t bother me as much anymore?

Izumi: I said quit your yapping! If you don’t shut up and do your work, then you’re really gonna get it, you know?!

Mao: Actually, I’m surprised we haven’t gotten it yet.

…More importantly, Sena-senpai, I just noticed, but… what happened to Ritsu? Did he skip out?

He seemed fine in class today, though.

Izumi: What? Ahh… he was looking awful, so we threw him in the nurse’s room.

Kuma-kun’s been seeming kinda poorly recently… do you know why? You’re Isara, right? His childhood friend?

Mao: Huh? Ah, well, lately he’s been doing alright without me having to nag him…

I actually thought he’d been doing pretty well, too.

Izumi: Hmm? Now that I think about it, I haven’t had to lecture Kuma-kun so often these days… What’s up with him, putting in some actual effort all of a sudden?

I think it’s a good direction for him, but there’s no point if he only collapses from pushing himself too hard, you know?

Arashi: Yeah, it’s concerning… Mao-chan, could I ask you to go check on him for us after this?

For some reason, Ritsu-chan tends to act like he’s fine in front of us—

It’s very boyish and cute, but it also makes it harder for us to realize when there’s a problem.

But it seems he’s able to let his guard down around you, Mao-chan.

So just act casual and check up on him, okay?

I’m sure we’ve grown important to him now, too, but… no matter how much you look up to someone, it’s different from being family.

He’s been calling you family out of love. He needs your support right now.

Mao: O-Okay… well, I’ll go drop by the nurse’s room later.

But I need to work on making sweets right now.

This is Ritsu’s forte, so it would’ve been nice having him around, you know?

Hokuto: Hmm. Speaking of which, Knights’ Suou-kun and that leader of yours aren’t here either.

I’ve heard that Knights is a group of individualists, so I guess we can’t expect all of you to gather in one place so easily.

Arashi: Mm~ Actually, we’ve been pretty good about working together for our activities lately. Ousama tends to skip, but the remaining four of us are usually around.

Subaru: …Ousama?

Arashi: That’s our leader. Originally, he was “Leo-sama”, but somewhere along the way it got either mispronounced or modified somehow…

I guess it’s been his nickname for a while. Even now, his long-time fans still call him Ousama or Leo-sama, you know?

Izumi: Speaking of long-time fans, don’t you get the sense that a lot of fans who’d previously distanced themselves from us have been coming back?

Even at our recent events, like our lives, I saw some familiar faces here and there from our time as Chess.

We haven’t even officially announced the comeback of our very own idiot yet…

I’m honestly impressed the fans are so quick to hear about things, you know?

Arashi: Isn’t that a good thing, though? They’ve been cheering us on all this time…

Or rather, they didn’t abandon us even after we fell to rock bottom last year, and they still love us now.

Izumi: Mm… Even though he’s useless during performances right now, that blockhead’s actually pretty good at drawing fans…

He’s been making a bunch of new songs - our weapons - after all.

…I’m really glad he came back for us.

Arashi: Izumi-chan…

Izumi: Hmph. Well, considering how unstable we are right now, we can’t officially announce this comeback yet.

It’d be really cruel to our fans to get their hopes up.

Arashi: That’s true… Speaking of which, we should really remind Tsukasa-chan about that.

That kid tends to run ahead of us, after all. It seems like he’s been spreading around the idea that Ousama came back.

Izumi: Ignorance is bliss, huh… Even now, he’s gone to drag that idiot back to work, right?

Not that it really matters if he’s here or not.

Arashi: Saying stuff like that isn’t going to make you very popular, you know?

Besides, isn’t that kind of thing your job, Izumi-chan? Not Tsukasa-chan?

If you’re the one who tells him to do something, then even Ousama would listen.

Izumi: …It’s because he listens to everything I say that I can’t just talk to him without thinking twice, you know?

[1] Akechi Mitsuhide was a retainer of the famed daimyo Oda Nobunaga, but apparently Oda wasn't very nice and called Akechi "kumquat head" a lot. Maybe this was one of the reasons Akechi raised a revolt against Oda in Honno-ji, which resulted in the daimyo's death.
