Tsumugi: Sora-kun~, Natsume-kun~? Are you here?
I finished those outfits! Can you try them on? I’m pretty confident in the design this time.♪
Natsume: Ahh Senpai, you are earlier than Planned. You work very Slowly, so I assumed you’d be done at the end of the Month, or in the worst Case, next month and Beyond.
Tsumugi: Fufu, I’ve grown too, you see~!
Recently DreamFes lives have gotten a lot more frequent, so if we don’t increase our speed now, we won’t be able to catch up.
Natsume: I’m not praising you or Anything. My plans are getting messed up Now… Why won’t you move as I Expect, Senpai? You’re really Useless, aren’t You?
Tsumugi: W-Why would you say that?! I worked so hard! I stayed up at night pricking my fingers on this needlework because I wanted to see you and Sora-kun smile!
Natsume: Mmnn… You’re expected to do as Much. Don’t act all high and Mighty.
You should be working to death for Us, because if you don’t work twice or three times as much as a normal Person, you’ll never catch Up, you See?
Tsumugi: Nnghh. You seem to be in a bad mood, Natsume-kun.
Please don’t take it out on others so much~ Of course, it’s better that you’re directing it at me and not someone else…
But if you keep getting irritated and bully people like that, they’ll hate you, you know? Senpai is worried you might be getting isolated in class, Natsume-kun.
Natsume: You are much too Concerned~ The others are being fairly well-behaved with Me. But more Importantly, quit chatting away and show me the outfits Already.
Tsumugi: Ah, yes. I tried to make them just as requested. Are they alright?
You asked me to make them look “Japanese”, so I was a little stuck… I mean, don’t you think Switch has more of a Western look?
We’re a unit of fairy tale and fantasy magicians, after all!
But when I did some digging, I thought maybe we could use “Onmyoji” as a motif!
Onmyodo was absorbed by Shinto long, long ago and has now almost disappeared, so it was an ordeal trying to reproduce it.
There isn’t much information on it left in the modern age, so there are a lot of parts I filled in with my own imagination.
But generally, Onmyodo gives off an image of Japanese magic users – casting curses, capturing and using shikigami, stuff like that.
There’s probably been a popular manga about it at some point… So I thought “Ah, this is it.”
What do you think? With both a traditional “Japanese” touch, and also the “magician” feel we have in Switch, we have “Onmyoji”! [1]
It’s a winning idea, isn’t it? When it finally occurred to me, a weird noise came out of my mouth!
Natsume: Huh, for a Senpai who always works so slowly and Steadily, this is an unusual Insight…
The outfits are also very Well-made, though they seem a little difficult to sing and dance In, or rather a little Stiff.
Tsumugi: Well, compared to our usual sporty unit outfits, that may be true.
I asked people like Keito-kun, since Akatsuki has a lot of Japanese-style outfits, and made some adjustments here and there. I don’t think they’ll be impossible to move around in.
The season being as it is, I had to think about making them warm to some extent too.
When I put it all together, the outfits turned out a bit heavier than actual Onmyoji outfits.
Natsume: But that’s fine, Right? Let alone the outfits themselves being perfectly Adjusted, your answer was far beyond what I Expected. …It pains Me, but I shall praise You. Well done, shaggy Man.
Tsumugi: I-It doesn’t sound like you’re praising me at all, though! Please say it more nicely!
Natsume: How Impudent… More importantly, Senpai, I have something to Ask.
Tsumugi: Huh? Ah, yes, are these a no, then? These outfits are just prototypes in the end, though, so if we choose to use them, then I was thinking of touching them up later…?
Natsume: These outfits are Fine, but Perfect… I wouldn’t say that Much.
I am leaving outfit work to you, Senpai. If they aren’t too far from what I had in Mind, I will not say Anything.
But that’s not what I Meant… Did you do something to Sora?
Tsumugi: Huh, Sora-kun?
No, until I finished the outfits, I’ve been spending all my time in the “secret underground library” looking for references, or working on sewing at home or in handicrafts club…?
I haven’t seen Sora-kun for the past few days, actually. Did something happen to him?
