[Soundproof Practice Room]

Makoto: Yeah. But in this day and age, I feel like the contents will be leaked online even if we do manage to gather all of them, and it’ll stick around in the depths of the internet forever.

It might even look really weird if we make a fuss collecting everything.

And then it may even reach people who don’t normally read magazines and become some intriguing but baseless rumor.

I feel like that’s what Saegusa-kun is aiming for.

Subaru: Mm~ We don’t know if it’s really Bari~’s plot yet, right?

It could be just a mistake by the author, or it could’ve been someone receiving orders from a higher-up, too.

Mao: That’s true. It’s easy to talk about taking the magazines back, but not only would it cost huge amount of money, it’d also turn into a question of who’s to blame.

The one who wrote the article might end up dying in the eyes of society.

They might just be an underling of someone nasty, or they might just be a good person who was unwittingly used.

I feel like it’d keep me awake at night if that person’s life ended up ruined.

There isn’t much meaning if you don’t aim directly at the mastermind of the plot, after all.

Izumi: What? What’re you getting all soft for?

Aren't I more important than a random person whose face you don't even know? Me and Knights, who’ve worked with you all this time - shouldn't we be way more important?

I can’t stand having Knights looked down upon, wounded, and soiled.

…I won’t let that happen ever again. And at least this time, we’re completely innocent, you know?

Ritsu: Yup. Most of the issues we’ve had have been partly our fault, but this just came out of nowhere. And on top of that, the damage is huge.

The effort we’ve put in for more than half a year will be reduced to nothing, and there’ll be a lasting stigma against us left in the form of this magazine.

I’m not especially concerned myself, but Secchan and Ousama both have decisions to face about their future right now and I’m worried about them, you know?

Izumi: I don’t need your concern, though. But in reality, idol and model work are both businesses based on trust.

If “these guys are just some lazy trash” becomes truth in the eyes of the public, then our work isn’t gonna last.

Ritsu: Yup. So we’re suggesting a solution to this. If you can agree to it, then we’ll leave you alone for today.

It might be pointless to try recalling all the magazines, since it seems realistically, or even ethically, difficult to do.

So if that’s the case, there’s only one thing that can be done.

And that’s if you guys in Trickstar make a public statement saying that the magazine article was released against your will, and that it’s a bunch of made-up stuff with no basis in reality.

It’s not like everyone who sees such a statement will believe it…

And the people who want to believe the article will do so anyway, but it’s better than just swallowing it down without a word.

Makoto: Yeah. I mean, I figured it was a given we should do that.

Hokuto: I agree. Not only does this article drag down Knights, but it’s also a plot to isolate us in school.

If we don’t deny the things said in there, it’d be pretty bad for us too.

…How frustrating. After experiencing such a bitter defeat in Summer Live…

We worked so hard to finally stand on the Autumn Live stage, where we fully realized how much we’d matured.

Even though we put up a good fight against Adam and grew stronger… No, even though it felt like we were finally starting to be rewarded for our hardships…

It’s as if all those emotions and our success have now been soiled. We’ll make sure to publicly correct that article and deny its contents in an official statement. If they won’t believe us the first time, we’ll just try and try again.

We’ll insist we were framed. We’ll insist that all the idols at Yumenosaki Academy are a group of motivated and passionate guys who deserve respect.

We have no choice but to keep repeating that and hope everyone believes us.

I’m sure it’ll be fine. The situation should calm down after that. Justice is on our side, and we haven’t done anything wrong.

Subaru: ……

Ritsu: Mhmm. And then… well, there may be some lingering resentment, but that’s the best choice for now.

Izumi: Yup. Try to be more careful next time, you idiots!

Tsukasa: Um, has the problem already been solved? B-But now that I have brandished this fist in anger, where do I let it fall?

Izumi: Direct it at your belly fat or something. Kasa-kun, you know that the reason you’re getting heavier even though you don’t look all that different is because fat’s building up inside your body, right?

Even though I’ve told you over and over not to snack….?

Tsukasa: T-That is not the case! I’ve only grown taller! I’m having my growth spurt right now!

Arashi: Mmm~… Hey, Ritsu-chan, do you really think this is gonna solve everything and it’ll all be peaches and cream?

Ritsu: I don’t. We’ll still take some damage no matter what we do. We’ve just smoothed things over for now so it won’t become a mortal wound.

If we’re lucky, nothing big will come out of this and we can go “oh yeah, that happened” later on and laugh about it.

But I kinda have a bad feeling about this… Like we’re overlooking something important.

(Mm~… But it’s useless. I’ve been feeling weak lately, so I can’t think too straight.)
