Eichi: Hmm, I see.
Your explanations are as poor as ever, Tsukinaga-kun. I’ll try to summarize the bits and pieces of your story, so do point out anything that I might have missed.
Leo: Fffsss… fsshhh...
Eichi: …? What’s wrong? Why are you hissing at me like a scared little kitten?
Leo: Hm? I’m not hissing at you! I was just blowing on my tea ‘cause it’s hot!
Eichi: I’m surprised you’re not feeling more tense… from what I understand, you’ve been caught up in quite the troublesome situation. Do take this more seriously.
Well, it would be a problem if you started panicking, though.
Returning to the topic – so, in summary, you said the Suou family’s Tsukasa-kun has gone missing?
You were going to choose him as the next leader of Knights, but after refusing your offer, he hasn’t appeared for an entire week…?
Leo: Well, it’s not exactly that he’s gone missing. He’s told us he’s gonna be absent. It’s just that he won’t give us any explanation even when asked, so I’m pretty worried about him.
Not being able to see his face makes me kinda uneasy~ This hasn’t ever happened before, after all.
Eichi: Oh? Have you finally realized how much heartache you caused everyone when you disappeared?
Though, I suppose that’s in poor taste of me to say… As the one who drove you into a corner, I have no right to blame you.
That aside, I’ve been hearing this kind of story quite often lately.
Apparently, Kanzaki-kun from Keito’s unit has also disappeared, and members from many other units have started doing all sorts of strange things.
I was the one who decided the stars of Repayment Festival would be our juniors, but…
Perhaps I was too hasty. No… on the contrary, if they spent the entire time cradled in the arms of their seniors, they would never have a chance to grow.
For better or for worse, when it comes to the DreamFes system, I feel that we students of Yumenosaki have fostered our sense of camaraderie far too much…
Bonds between people can easily turn into dependency.
While it’s true that politicians have an easier time controlling slaves satisfied with simply following orders from above…
I despise the masses that stop thinking for themselves and simply choose the easy path. And as someone who attempted a revolution, it would be wrong for me to wish for them to appear.
So, Tsukinaga-kun, that’s why I would prefer you don’t speak of my plans to anyone just yet. Underclassmen aside, I wouldn’t want the other graduating students to know either.
If one becomes conceited enough to believe that no parting as painful as death will ever reach them, it will only invite corruption.
Our idols need to feel growing pains—no, the pain of being ripped away from the umbilical cord.
Leo: Mm~… uh, ahh… hmm? You’re right, I guess? Yep, totally got it!
You sure do talk in a confusing way… are you some kinda lawbook that leaves no room for misunderstandings? Wahaha☆
Eichi: I speak in this manner because I trust you will understand me, you know.
I usually give a slightly more condensed version for the fans who come to see our shows, at least.
Leo: That’s good, then~ This world prefers stuff that’s easy to understand!
Sometimes we need confusing stuff too, though, right? It’d be boring if only one type existed! Everyone’s different and everyone’s wonderful…☆
…So anyway, in short – I guess you’re using Knights as a hostage against me, huh. That’s why I’m the only one you’ve told your plans to, right?
Eichi: It sounds like you’ve gone completely off topic, you know. Though, I see what you mean, so my answer is “that’s right”.
For the lot of you, who bear the archaic knightly archetype, doesn’t it seem rather fitting to take a hostage, a method so often used in ancient wars?
Never again do I want to… no, does the world want to lose a talent like yours, Tsukinaga-kun.
Leo: Huh~? You don’t have to take a hostage for that~ I’m not gonna run away anymore, anyway.
Ah, whatever. That’s not what I came here for – I’m worried about our missing Suo~. You don’t think I upset him or something, do you?
I mean, it’s just weird. I never thought a serious guy like him would take a whole week off!
Maybe he’s feeling bad about saying no to me? Or maybe he’s running away because he doesn’t want me to ask again—
No matter which or whatever it is, it feels like my fault thanks to the timing! And I’d feel bad if it were – plus, I’m just really worried about him~!
Hey, Tenshi, d’you know anything about it?
You’re pretty much the only info source I can reach right now~ All the other units have this weird tense air around ‘em right now, so it’s hard to poke any of them, y’know?
You’re my only lifeline here! Plus, you’re a noble heir like Suo~, right?
Last time I saw him, he said something was going on with his family, so I thought maybe he’d gotten involved in some kinda drama…?
If he is, I figured you might know about it! So that’s why I came to see you, not to drink this gross tea!
Seriously, what the hell, it’s so bad! It’s like a cross between a veggie drink and literal sewage…!
Eichi: Just to be clear, it’s not my fault that the tea tastes so terrible. I’m only saying this as it concerns the dignity of my role as the tea club president.
Usually, Yuzuru’s the one who takes care of our tea stock, even though he’s not a member of the student council.
But to tell you the truth, fine has been having a bit of trouble, and it seems like even Yuzuru isn’t being as thorough as he usually is.
Leo: Trouble? You guys okay? It really sounds like everyone’s having quite a time around here.
I wonder if it’s like this every year… well, I was already gone around this time last year so I dunno, really!
Eichi: Who knows? I was in the hospital at that time, too…
However, I have a feeling that, while it isn’t the first time since the birth of mankind, it’s been a very long time since graduation has been so lively.
It only shows how much those in our grade have spent this year living a warm, fun, and cherished youth.
That’s precisely why it’s so difficult, and why the parting we call graduation feels so heavy, sad, and overwhelming.
But well, there’s nothing to worry about… though I suppose that would be odd for me to say to you.
The troubles that fine faces are inevitable, just some of our very own growing pains.
Fufu. Perhaps that’s too difficult a metaphor for you, considering how you haven’t hit your growth spurt yet?
Leo: Ah! Now I’m hurt and ticked off! Is it really that great to be so huge?!
I will grow up too~ I believe with my whole heart that guys continue growing even after they reach twenty~
Eichi: Smaller means cuter, though. …Just kidding. I accidentally said something Itsuki-kun would say.
Leo: Well, I actually don’t think Shu’d accept just anything that’s small, y’know? I mean, I’m small and I’m pretty sure he hates me, after all~
Eichi: Oh? You two seem very friendly to me. I’m almost jealous, you know.
