[Halloween Party Stage: Trickstar]
Subaru: Ahaha. You sure are strong, Hokke~. I’m always depending on you for stuff.
Hokuto: Well, go ahead and depend on me. We’re all on the same level, but in position alone, I’m the leader, so I have a responsibility to support you all.
And no matter how long it takes, I will definitely grow to fulfill that role.
If I just keep at it, then step by step, I can even reach the moon on foot.
…Speaking of the moon, I heard you and Yuuki had a talk with that Tsukinaga-senpai. [1]
That’s not fair, leaving me out…
As a fellow leader, I’ve been wanting to learn his secrets of how he manages a unit full of demanding members.
How does he lead a group of such strong-willed people… What kind of magnanimous saint does he have to be to do that? I’m sure it’s a question anyone would ask.
Arashi: Oh my, isn’t that harsh?
Tsukasa: Leader doesn’t really “manage” or “lead” us at present, though?
You speak as though we are Leader’s subordinates, but that differs from the truth. May I have you correct that statement?
Hokuto: Oh… It’s rare for you all to speak to us in the middle of a live show.
Tsukasa: We simply couldn’t leave that be… Additionally, I have something to ask you.
Even if just for the brief moment between our units’ timeslots, I’d like to borrow an ear, if I may?
Shortly after this, there will be performances one after another, and we will also be rather occupied serving tables and returning to the stage.
I thought I would ask while I still have the chance.
Subaru: Oh, sure. What’s up? Make it quick if you can~ It’s our turn up next to sing with all we’ve got, after all! I might be a little upset if this gets in the way, you know?
Tsukasa: Understood. This is not some sort of shameless plot to intrude upon your songs, so worry not.
In any case... Do you perhaps know why Leader withdrew temporarily from Knights?
My seniors evade the question whenever I ask, so I don’t exactly know.
Hokuto: Hm. Well, I’m afraid to say we don’t really know either. Trickstar talked about this with each other before, but we barely know anything about Tsukinaga-senpai.
Subaru: Yeah… Sorry ‘bout that. But if you wanna find out, then why not try asking him directly?
Tsukasa: Ah yes, perhaps that is best… I apologize for taking up your time.
Honestly... Everyone keeps trying to act cool and mysterious and treat me like a child. No one will breathe a word to me about anything important, I see.
Am I really so untrustworthy? No, rather… Do I seem so fragile that I would be crushed beneath even the smallest burden?
Arashi: Fufu. Of course not, Tsukasa-chan.
The saying “honesty doesn’t pay” doesn’t hold true at all. But if you ban even gentle lies and evasiveness, that would make the world a pretty hard place to live in, you know?
Sometimes, we need to lie. Of course, things that hurt people are out of the question, just like that nasty article that’s still affecting us.
That really was nothing short of a disaster… Trying to dispel all the bad influence it had took so much work.
Tsukasa: Have we…dispelled it yet?
Arashi: Yes, for the most part… The fans have a surprising amount of love for Knights, plus me and Izumi-chan are making a name for ourselves as models.
Our coworkers there trust us, too. I guess it was a good move for me to walk home some of the girls at the agency when they were too scared to go out alone at night.
Rather, those honest actions added up and became a shield to protect us.
I heard our agency will be cutting ties with that magazine.
Of course, we can get some extra gigs through online services and magazines with connections to Yumenosaki.
But whether or not that’ll give us results falls to us.
We’re in an era when we can choose our own family and work partners, after all. We should be thankful that we managed to say bye-bye to the scary ones so early on.
Maybe we’ve actually been getting ahead of ourselves. We’ve been doing so well lately and expanding steadily…only to step on a landmine.
We need to move just a little more carefully from now on.
But, well, this kind of thing does tend to happen a lot…Or rather, it would sound insincere if we said that. I do feel sorry for anyone who got hurt in this incident.
But I don’t want to get done in by such a tiny scheme either, you know?
No matter how tough it gets, let’s hold our heads up high and smile like, “No sweat!” That’s much more attractive, don’t you think, Tsukasa-chan?♪
Tsukasa: Yes… Every now and then, you do look very beautiful, Narukami-senpai.
Arashi: Oh my, how honest! Feel free to praise me more, okay? After all, an honest compliment feels much better than a little white lie! Ohohoho♪
Tsukasa: I said “every now and then.”
Please do not get ahead of yourself… You may have avoided the topic by tactfully changing the subject, but know that I won’t accept it.
Arashi: Yes, of course. But you know, Tsukasa-chan, you’ll come to learn everything eventually.
Neither Izumi-chan nor Ousama are very honest, and both of them tend to act cool, so it might take some time.
But if you stay with them, you’ll find out in the end.
Tsukasa: Alright. Until then…no, until my body turns to dust, I shall stay by everyone’s side.
No one in Knights ordered this of me. This is what I myself have chosen to do.
I want to treasure you all as long as I live.
When you love someone, there may be times you get hurt. But because you love them, everything will be alright. Isn’t that right, Narukami-senpai?
Arashi: Oh my, do you have feelings for someone?
Tsukasa: No, but you could say I’ve fallen in love.
