Season: Autumn

(About ten days later, on the day of Halloween Party)

Izumi: Fufu. Fufufu, ufufufufufu…♪
Wait for me, Yuu-kun! You ungrateful little brat~! I’ll make you regret daring to talk back to me for the rest of your life! Ufufufu…♪
Arashi: …Oh, God. What the heck, Izumi-chan’s acting even creepier than usual.
Tsukasa: Agreed. The pumpkin he keeps stirring around in a gooey mess looks just like a freshly severed head, and it’s terrifying.
I wonder what happened. He seems to be in some sort of foul mood…?
Sena-senpai, we have a live performance today, so please avoid any behavior that may “freak out” our guests.
…Have I used “freak out” correctly?
Arashi: That’s right! I totally agree, Tsukasa-chan! Smiles are an idol’s lifeblood, but the smile Izumi-chan’s got on right now is straight out of a horror movie, right?
We’re not doing some kind of haunted house, so I don’t think you should go around scaring our guests.
Sure, you could say that a little bit of creepiness makes for a good Halloween costume, but there’s only so far you can go with that, you know?
Izumi: Shut up! Don’t move your mouths, move your hands! We don’t have enough people as it is!
Tsukasa: Right… I heard Ritsu-senpai is resting in the nurse’s office because he doesn’t feel very well. Unique aesthetic aside, he is a master at making sweets. His absence hurts us.
Izumi: Well, we’ll meet up with him soon enough. He annoyed me to death over the last time we didn’t call him over, so this time I made sure to tell him about our sweets-making plans for today.
Arashi: Yeah… Personally, I’d rather he rest and not push himself too hard, though.
Ritsu-chan is an indispensable part of Knights, too, now, so it’d be nice if he could at least greet the fans today.
Izumi: Mhmm. It’s just… this is the first time I’ve seen him so weak…
We can’t let the worst happen. I set up our plans so that we can go from beginning to end without him if we have to.
Tsukasa: Right. So, uh, the first thing on today’s itinerary is to start preparations from early morning.
Once we finish this, we will walk about the school until sundown, wearing costumes and doing fanservice for the guests…
Then, when evening comes, every unit will do a performance onstage in order, right?
Izumi: That’s right. And thanks to the student council’s arrangements – or should I say unnecessary concern? – we’re doing the first performance of the night jointly with Trickstar…
Make sure you tell Ousama that there will be no tolerance for lateness.
Tsukasa: You could tell him yourself. I am not Leader’s manager, you know?
Izumi: Hmph. Well, worst case scenario, we can go without him. We’ve been doing just fine with four people up until now, so it’s not like we necessarily need Ousama with us.
It’s just that Kuma-kun isn’t feeling well, so to be honest... it’d be helpful if Ousama could stand onstage with us.
Our opponents will definitely be coming at us as a united front, after all. Having only three members on our side is just gonna look bad.
Tsukasa: Hm. You said they are our “opponents”… but I cannot say I’m following.
The other day, you seemed agitated and suddenly went ahead and spoke with the other party on your own for some reason--
But I’m afraid I don’t understand what that was all about.
Izumi: Hmph. Well, I do feel sorry for going ahead without asking, but does it really matter…?
You’re always doing the exact same thing anyway, Kasa-kun, so you don’t have any right to complain. Plus, Knights has always been a group of individualists, right?
Arashi: That’s no excuse for running wild, Izumi-chan.
…Well, instead of Izumi-chan, it seems like it’s Trickstar’s fault this time.
Or rather, Yuuki-kun’s fault. …He acts like he’s so scared of everything, but he’s actually really manly, isn’t he? What a pleasant surprise♪
Instead of striving to work together as Trickstar and Knights in Halloween Party…
...He went and suggested we have a competition, a showdown to see who can please the fans more.
Tsukasa: Hmm. Well, it did feel like we were forcing ourselves to get along before, and we weren’t making any decent progress…
So, I am rather relieved to see it turn into a head-on confrontation.
Perhaps it was because of that magazine article, but Trickstar has been acting quite timidly recently, very unlike themselves.
I would rather they come at us directly with a fight.
This way, we can lash out at each other as much as we like. It’s even invigorating - it feels like we’re finally back to ourselves.
Izumi: Ourselves, huh… True, we are basically rivals, after all.
Arashi: Mhmm. It’d actually be more irritating if they come stumbling in and bow their heads to us, like they’re looking down on us or something.
It’s much easier to just turn around and start throwing punches.♪
Izumi: Yeah. And it’s also more beneficial for us…
...Because the issue I’ve been worried about since that magazine article started circulating has finally reared its ugly head.
